Saprem Namaste To All:

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and General Membership of the New Jersey Arya Samaj Inc., I am honored and humbled to welcome each of you to our Arya Swaranjali.

We are very grateful to God and all who have worked to make this event possible: the person who conceived the idea to hold this event, the singers, musicians, dancers, decorators, advertisers, sponsors, promoters, set up/take down crews, refreshment/snack staff, ticket sales personnel, purchasers of tickets, all those in attendance, and all other individuals and/or organizations who have helped us in other ways.

During the recent past, we have witnessed tremendous tragedies from natural and manmade activities. However, with each tragedy we read about, hear about, and/or see, the magnanimity of the human spirit in a multiplicity of individuals through their benevolent actions.

Some of us have been personally affected by one or more of these tragedies, but we have found inner strength and hope to look forward to a better tomorrow. On the other hand, while some of us ask, “Why me?”, others say “Why not me?” Am I so special that I should be exempt from the pain and suffering that so many other individuals are experiencing? Whatever our particular circumstances may be, we can turn to the teachings of the Rishis to empower us to meet tragedies with understanding and acceptance, instead of dismay and depression.

We know that we were born with both punya and papa karmas, due to the effects of our good and not so good deeds of our prior lives. As a result of these karmas, we receive good things that are beneficial to our daily lives as well as suffering that we do not deserve, based on our actions in this life. Again, the teachings of the Rishis are important- we must reap the fruits of our actions and some of these fruits may not be seen in this physical lifetime.

Your participation in this program is helping the New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir Inc., provide assistance to children, who are without parents, go to school, get medical help, have footwear, meals, clothing, etc. I believe we can agree, irrespective of our religious beliefs that these actions are all in the mode of doing good and selflessly helping others; which will only assist us to build our bank account of good actions.

Thank you very much for all your support- past, present, and future. If we at the New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir can be of any help to you, your family, friends, or anyone you come into contact with, please do not hesitate to contact us.

May we live in peace and harmony as one society, where each of us will do our best to relieve the sufferings of all?

Yours in OM.
