New Jersey Arya Samaj returns for another humanitarian mission in Guyana – leader meets Prime Minister Hinds

President of the New Arya Samaj Mandir Humanitarian Mission Pt Suresh Sugrim presents certificate of recognition to Prime Minister Samuel Hinds.

The New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir Humanitarian Mission, headed by American-based Guyanese Pandit Suresh Sugrim, has returned to continue its yearly charitable outreach programmes to the less fortunate children and other under-privileged groups across the country.
Yesterday the Mission’s leader met Prime Minister Samuel Hinds at his Kingston office to outline to him20the 2009 programme. Prime Minister Hinds is at present performing the duties of President.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister, Pandit Sugrim presented a certificate of special Senate recognition to the Prime Minister for his outstanding dedication to the less fortunate children and seniors.
This year the humanitarian mission will be seeking to expand its operations through partnerships with several Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) serving the less fortunate groups in society.
During the mission which began on July 31 and ends on August 29, efforts will be made to provide housing, clothing, medical supplies, food vouchers, wheel chairs for the disabled and other goods and services.
In an interview with the Government Information Agency, Pandit Sugrim explained that his organisation will be extending a hand to people of all religious backgrounds and ethnicities across Guyana. (GINA)
